Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of the Heir Standard website (“Heir Standard,” “we,” or “us”) handles information collected through this website. Heir Standard is a community movement focused on stronger households, individual empowerment, and our children’s future.
This policy covers our website forms, our use of their submissions, and the locally saved activity data described below. Adult Community Win nominations use the contact form and are reviewed privately before any publication. Hosting and sign-in providers also handle information under their own policies, as described below.
Information we collect
- Community interest submissions: your name, email address, optional city and state, selected interests, contact permission, and the dates your entry was created or updated.
- Agreement records: the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy versions shown when you submit the interest form, and the date and time you confirmed your agreement.
- Contact and privacy requests: your email address, request type, message if provided, submission time, and information needed to respond to or verify the request.
Providing information is voluntary. Required fields are identified on each form; we need those details to process that form. Please share only what is needed for your request.
Our hosting, authentication, and security providers may also process technical information such as IP addresses, browser or device information, request times, security logs, and sign-in details to deliver and protect the site. The site may require a hosting-provider account or sign-in depending on its access settings.
How we use information
We use submitted information to maintain the interest list, understand the community’s areas of interest, contact people about getting involved, answer questions, and handle privacy requests. City and state help us understand where people want to connect locally. Agreement records help document the permissions and terms associated with an entry.
We may also use information as needed to maintain the website, prevent misuse, protect people’s rights and safety, and meet applicable legal obligations. We do not post form submissions publicly on this website.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell the information you submit or share it for targeted advertising. Access is limited to the website operator, people authorized to assist with the stated purposes, and service providers needed to operate the website and handle submissions.
We use service providers for website hosting, sign-in, delivery, and data storage. These providers may process platform, authentication, and technical information under their own privacy policies. Cloudflare provides delivery and data-storage infrastructure; its practices are described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States.
We may disclose information when legally required, to address fraud or a serious safety concern, to protect legal rights, or with your permission. If a future organizational transition would change who controls your information or how it is used, we will provide notice and seek consent where required by law.
Welcome emails and website alerts
Resend delivers signup confirmation emails, confirmed-new-member welcome emails, message confirmation emails to people who use the contact form, and private signup or contact alerts to Heir Standard’s administrative mailbox, hosted by Namecheap. These services process the recipient address and message content needed for delivery. Signup alerts can include your name, email, optional city and state, and interests; contact alerts can include your request and message.
Email delivery records include message type, recipient, status, and a delivery-service reference. Pending or failed messages may be stored for retry; their stored body is cleared when the sending service accepts them. Acceptance by the sending service does not guarantee arrival in an inbox.
Adult forms use a self-hosted ALTCHA security check to reduce automated misuse. After an adult confirms eligibility, the browser solves a short computational challenge, which is checked on our server and can be used only once. This check does not send information to ALTCHA or collect behavioral signals. If Cloudflare Turnstile is configured instead, its security check may process IP address and browser or device signals under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We also use hidden form fields and hourly hashed network and email identifiers for abuse limits. Pending signup details and a hashed confirmation token expire after 24 hours; expired proposals and undelivered confirmation bodies are cleared on subsequent signup activity. A confirmation email is sent before any list entry is created or changed.
See the Resend Privacy Policy and the Namecheap Privacy Policy for their practices. Use our contact form to request an end to contact; waiting welcome emails are paused when an unsubscribe or deletion request is received.
Cookies and tracking
The seven-day reading challenge stores only completed day numbers in this browser if you turn on device saving. Turning saving off or choosing Clear progress removes that saved copy. Without saving, checkmarks last only while the page is open. No children’s names, photos, school details, or personal information are requested. Share cards are created on your device. Only when you choose a sharing destination are the card and its public page link shared through your device.
Future Me saves your learning plan in this browser’s local storage. The plan is not sent to Heir Standard. Use Clear plan to remove its contents, download a copy to keep it elsewhere, or clear this site’s browser storage. History filters and media-literacy practice choices stay in page memory. Optional read-aloud uses your browser or device speech feature to read a public story; it does not record your voice.
Play & Learn uses this browser’s local storage to remember your Create Studio draft and weekly mission checkmarks. These drafts and checkmarks are not sent to Heir Standard. You can reset a design in Create Studio, undo mission checkmarks, or remove saved activity data by clearing this site’s browser storage. Trivia answers stay in page memory and reset when the page reloads.
Heir Standard does not currently add advertising pixels or third-party analytics trackers to this website. Hosting, sign-in, and security services may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for their services, and may collect technical or usage information under their own policies.
Our website does not currently change its behavior in response to browser “Do Not Track” signals. We do not use interest-list or contact submissions to track your activity across other websites. See the provider policies above for their handling of browser settings and privacy signals.
You can manage cookies through your browser or relevant provider settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect sign-in or access.
Retention and security
We keep interest-list information while it is needed to manage your interest and communicate with you. We remove it when it is no longer needed or following a verified deletion request, except for limited information that must be retained for a legal obligation or to document and honor your request.
Contact requests and agreement records are kept only as needed to handle requests, document their resolution, and meet applicable obligations. Hosting providers may maintain their own logs or backups under their retention practices.
We use the site’s access controls and hosting protections to limit unauthorized access. No online service can guarantee complete security.
Your choices and requests
You can ask us to:
- Provide a copy of the information you submitted.
- Correct or update your information.
- Delete your interest entry or other submitted information.
- Stop contacting you about Heir Standard.
Use the Contact Heir Standard form and choose the relevant request type. Use the email associated with your submission where possible. We may need to verify that you control that email before providing information or acting on a request.
You can request an update by submitting the interest form again with the same email. New signups and changes take effect only after you review and confirm an expiring link sent to that mailbox. We will handle privacy requests in accordance with applicable law. Depending on where you live, additional rights or limits may apply; this policy does not reduce those rights.
Children’s information
Play & Learn offers activities for children, teens, and families without requiring an account, names, photos, or contact details. Younger children should use it with a parent or caregiver. Create Studio artwork and mission progress stay on the device unless you choose to download or share them. Source links take you to external websites with their own policies.
The community interest list and contact forms are for adults age 18 or older. Please ask an adult caregiver to submit privacy requests without including a child’s identifying details. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through it. Our mission supports children, but the interest form is for adult participation.
If you believe a child’s information has been submitted, use the contact form to request removal. Describe the concern without including more of the child’s personal information. A privacy request does not require joining the interest list.
Policy updates
We will post updates here with a revised effective date. For a material change in how existing submissions are handled, we will provide additional notice through the website or the email on file, and obtain consent where required. New features or data collection will be reflected in this policy before they are introduced.
Contact about privacy
Send a privacy question or request through the Contact Heir Standard form. The form saves your request for Heir Standard to review; it does not display your message publicly.
